India Fails at Oscars Again : (
I guess India should make peace with A.R Rahman’s Golden Globe award being the only foreign award we could get home from abroad. India’s Oscar dream goes kaput again as Taare Zameen Par is left out of the Oscar race.
A source reports, “Taare Zameen Par, directed by Aamir Khan has failed to make it to the nine films shortlisted in the foreign language film category. The nine films, selected from among the 65 that had originally qualified, will now go for the next round of voting.”
That brings us to the argument whether or not Taare Zameen Par should have been India’s official entry for the Oscars? Or the Jodhaa Akbar had a better chance of impressing the firangs with the royal spectacle including the ever popular Aishwarya Rai as the Queen of India, the maharajas and elephants on the battle field.
What is your take?
