Preity Zinita Nominated for Canadian Oscar Award
Bollywood actress Preity Zinta has been nominated for one of Canada’s top acting prizes.
The star is shortlisted in the Best Actress in a Leading Role category at the 24th annual Genie Awards for her performance in Heaven on Earth.
The awards are given by the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television (ACCT) and the actress will be flying the flag for India against stiff Hollywood competition from Susan Sarandon and Ellen Burstyn.
Heaven on Earth is about a battered Punjabi housewife living in Canada and has also been nominated for the Best Original Screenplay prize.
